Custom dresses

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT

A custom dress is for you if…

  • You have tried on dozens of wedding dresses and nothing is speaking to you or giving you that bridal moment feeling.

  • You love aspects of multiple different dresses and want to combine them into one gorgeous gown.

  • You want a dress that is completely unique to you; no one else will have the same gown.

  • You’re feeling overwhelmed by the wedding dress shopping process and want an expert to help understand and articulate what you are looking for and create a dress that you never imagined could be real!

The process

Your first step is to make an initial custom dress consult appointment with Carrie Ann Bridal! You’ll bring your ideas, pinterest boards, and an open mind. We’ll talk through it all and give you a more detailed look at how we’ll make your dream wedding dress come to life. If you’re not sure if custom is the direction you want to go but want to get more information, the initial consult is complimentary and there is no commitment required.

Once you’re ready to take the leap, you’ll have a variety of appointments and meetings:

  • Review sketches and designs, take measurements, look into fabric options.

  • Fitting with muslin fabric (rough draft) to make fit adjustments, confirm fabrics.

  • First fitting with your dress! Make alterations adjustments before adding any lace, beading, buttons, etc.

  • Multiple fittings to follow to make sure your custom gown is perfect!

Timeline and Pricing

TIMELINE

We recommend that you start the process of creating your custom gown at LEAST 6 months in advance but 9-12 months to keep everything stress free!

We are able to do rush custom gowns in under 6 months for those speedy engagements but keep in mind there is a rush fee and not all fabrics or materials are available that quickly.

PRICING

The cost of a custom gown depends heavily on fabrics choices, styles, silhouettes, accessories, etc. so there is a wide range on price points. All our custom dresses start at $3k and increase from there. Typically a good rule is that if there is lots of beading or lace, the price increases and simple minimal gowns are a little bit less expensive.

All of the design meetings and alterations are included in the cost of your gown. Once the designs are final, you will be given a final price quote. We have payment plan options as well that we can discuss with you at your appointment.

Please let us know if you have any other questions about custom dresses!
